Hello once more all you Moose Javians - greetings from a very snowy national capitol as we recover from our celebraton from Valentine's Day.  Seems that I will be the first one of what we hope will be many to write a greeting in this new year of 2021.  Let's hope the government finds additional vaccines so that we can get over this Covid quicker and get on with life. Since last in touch we have said goodbye to so many good friends - Eleanor and Dennis McCarthy amongst them.  I would see Dennis at his home located just east of our cottage on Pigeon Lake, south of Edmonton whenever we would go out for visits. My brother John and his wife Joanne (Fryklund) have moved from Alder Flats to Spruce Grove where they will be nearer family.  "Deak" will be 90 next June.  Had hoped to be singing for the inauguration  of the Pillar Project at the RCMP Heritage center in Regina but the Covid cancelled all that out.  I was also supposed to sing at the Roughrider game while there.  Just hope I can still get back home to see the old sites which I miss terribly. Am in touch with Jim Horsman in Med. Hat and he still sees some of the CCI gang.  The years go on folks but the spirit and cameraderie we shared at CCI continues on and on and is actually the glue that binds us all together.  Hope to hear from some of you and what you are doing to make this old and tired world a better place. At the end of April, this year, Eleanor and I will celebrate our Diamond wedding anniversary.  Both our children are retired and now it is the turn of our five grandchildren to do their thing.  What makes me very happy is that there is music in each one of their lives. Hello classes of 1973.   Here under lockdown in England.  Just scrolled through our yearbook.   Brought back to mind so many people.  Hope that most of you are well.  What different paths we all must have travelled.  Missing home.   Snow too.

Class of 1961 is  hoping to add to the pot for this latest CCI upgrade.  We turn 75 this year, so here's hoping everyone celebrates with a $75.00 or $175.00 donation.  Three classmates turn 74 this year---lest we forget.

If you are in Class of '61 but have changed your email or your phone or your mailing address, I hope you will be in touch so our records can be updated.

Happy 2018 to everyone.

Yes, a haopy new year (2016) to you all.  Just heard from former Centralites Eleanor (McCarthy) Conradson, Gerry (Kat) Segall and Monte Wright who left CCI in grade 9 to move to London, Ont.  He is now a world class artist with showings in major cities on several continents.  I've been following up on stories of WW1 in which my father, Sid Hampson fought.  Did you know that Moose Jaw was granted a true hero on April 9th, 1917, when one of our young men was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his valour on the day of Canada's great victory at Vimy.  How come we never ever heard the name Private William Johnstone Milne when we were growing up and going to school in Moose Jaw.  I invite you to Google him and read his exploits. 1917 marks the Centennial of this amazing local hero and gives us the opportunity to remember all those who fell in war for our country.

Graduated in 1972.  I attended the 100th anniversary, which proved to be quite a milestone to experience.  Well done to the Committee for setting up such a fantastic event.  I have one morning milestone coming up on 16 May 2014 which is my retirement from the Canadian Forces (Air Force) after 42 years as a Military Policeman.  Been around the world (acutally Egypt twice, Bosnia twice and The Sudan once).   It has been good and I just read my year book comment which says I planned to join the Air Force so I guess I qualify for succeeding in achieving one of my goals.

Hello there. Some one sent me a photo ---- and I am guessing at who is in the photo with me. I'm thinking the tireless web master sent it??!!??
As a result of the photo coming to me ---- I checked into the web site again.
Glad to see my favourite font is now available and we can choose the font size if we become verbose.
Went though the photos on the main log in screen and recalled a few faces but most of them were way older than me. I'm wondering why no one in my class was taking pictures??? Oh yeah, now I remember --- we were all rocken it hard on the dance floor like it was 1999.
Don are you in the photo? Where and when was that taken?
Did Kerry Mullen sell her house and move to the lake?
Do you know he way to San Jose?
Good night and good luck.

Great to read messages from old friends and classmates.  Regret missing the reunion but, with husband David so ill, was not able to be there.  He died on Nov.12 of last year and is sorely missed.  Still, life goes on and I\'m adjusting to this "new normal"  Would enjoy hearing from old classmates (1954)

How come more people don\'t write little stories for the folks to see.  I just had to write and tell you that I am still alive, still singing up a storm at Rideau Hall where I have been the anthem soloist since the days of Gov. Gen. Vanier - long time, eh!  Anyway, I want to share a great story from this past summer when I journeyed back to my old RCMP Detachment that I closed 50 years ago in Feb.  Reliance is located on the extreme east end of Great Slave Lake.  No one really lives there but the old log buildings are still intact.  My son and I stayed there for a week and got to see even more of that very special place than  I did when I was stationed there. One nice thing was that I  didn\'t have the care of 42 sled dogs to take up my daily routine.  We did get to travel by boat to some great  historical places nearby - Old Fort Reliance is a two hour boat trip  and the ruins of George Back\'s cabins of 1833 are all that remain there.  Not far away is Pike\'s Portage, where the early explorers carried their canoes overland to reach the Barrens.  We were amazed to find that the native people from Lutselk\'e were having their Sacred Gathering while we were there and we spent almost every day renewing acquaintances with many I had worked with at Snowdrift, a tiny satellite community, 120 kms. from Reliance and where I would travel to and from by dog team in winter.
We also got to meet up with many of our friends from Yellowknife days.  We were saddened to learn, shortly after we returned to Ottawa, that one of our pilots with Air Tindi, was killed in a plane crash near Lutselk\'e in late Sept.   Mathew Bromley\'s family are among my closest friends.

Should also tell you that I got to sing for the Royals (Kate and Will) on Canada Day and the following day my entire family got to meet them at Rideau Hall.  They made an enormous impact on everyone they met on this Canadian Tour.

I know this has zip all to do with Central Collegiate or Moose Jaw but I kinda think Miss IIrwin would be pleased with my French in the Royal and Canadian anthems that I sing almost daily.  Maybe all those strikes with the triangular ruler paid off.
Cheers everyone - be well!

Hello Jim Pinches

Thank you for your donation. Giving me your banking information was a blessing. I hope you didn\'t need that account. The children you have saved will call you a saint. I used a little of the money for myself and I bought a solid fabric blocked garment with jacquard ottoman body and pique insert raglan panels employing the finest 100% 4.7 oz/yd2/160 gsm polyester with moisture wicking and antimicrobial functions.

All the best.

Retired for 12 years in Ontario. Have a Swedish wife that I love dearly, two kids, four grandkids, and a wonderful black Lab that is dynamite on pheasants; and I love them all. Made it to RMC but the military career was very short. Ended up in social service administration. It’s been a good life! I remember Dennis L, John L, and Joan L.

I have finally had time to look at the web page again since the reunion. I have to say it was more that a reunion for me, it was bringing back all the memories  and stories of Barry(1973) that I would never have had the chance to hear if it wasn\'t for the CCI reunion. It was so great to see all the old gang(s) from the staff, the 1973 class - 1983 class. My memory brick for Barry will stay with me forever. Take care all!

It has been a little more than a month since that wonderful "homecoming" for CCI in Moose Jaw.  Sharing memories and fun stories of our youthful days was very special.  I want to personally thank everyone who came and visited at the Coffee House on the 8th and 9th.  They were better received than I had ever hoped and it was so encouraging to see so many familiar faces.  I suppose their success was shown with the presence of 19  Wickens family members to hear the familiar strains of the Minuet by Boccharini.  The whole reunion could have gone for a week - there just wasn\'t enough time to see everyone.  My gratitude to Don and all the gang for a sterling job of organizing the whole thing.  When I tell people here in Ottawa how many showed up for the reunion their jaws drop.  Only in Moose Jaw, you say!

I realize that everyone on the CCI 100 Committee worked very hard to make this Reunion happen. One person on that Committee who hasn\'t had their name mentioned (and if I know him he\'s probably happy with that) but definitely deserves special recognition is Rick Swenson. Rick was our facilities guy. It was no small feat to dot the i\'s and cross the t\'s for everything that happened at the Ex and then he ensured that everything was as it should be during the Reunion. Thank you, Rick... well done.

Wow!!  What an amazing time.  I enjoyed every second of all the events I attended, which was almost everything.  It was almost like being in a time warp heading back to the good \'ol days back at CCI from \'66 to \'70.  We were so lucky to have such a great school which offered so many opportunities for all who chose to participate in the numerous activities. The reunion team "brought CCI  back to life" for us. I especially liked the mix and mingle party,  reliving memories with classmates, while sneeking a peek at some nametags of those who I didn\'t quite recognize. I can\'t thank all of the reunion team enough.  Awesome job!!!

It\'s been said -- but don\'t think it can be said enough what - what a wonderful  job by the organizing committee.  Thanks to all of you.  Many of you put in hundreds and hundreds of hours to make sure the weekend was a success.  It was fantastic!

I imagine the turn out from the group of 68 might be a little diminished if we wait 25 years.  I like Mark Friels idea of a 50th -- would that be 8 years from now?

Again many thanks to those who organized and to those who attended.

The reunion was great. One of the best weekends of my life.  Mostly great fun and very entertaining but also moments of real emotion.

As my parents have passed and my brother Bob and his family live in Calgary, AB. my only remaining connection with Moose Jaw are those friendships that have been rekindled by the CCI Reunion.

I will be forever greatful for the kindness that was shown to my wife Susan and I by so many people.  Susan now knows what it is like to be one of those fun loving and friendly Canadians.

I have committed myself to not letting important friendship fall by the wayside once again.

Lastly, I would like to thank Bob Currie for so many things. Most importantly for his kindness, patience, talent and friendship which was one of  the main reasons I made it to and through High School.

Keep the faith and please keep in contact.

I have to say that my decision to host the Class of 69 Mix & Mingle Party was one of the wisest things I\'ve done in my life. Seeing everyone in one spot was fantastic and I can easily say that I would be glad to call each and every person my friend. What an awesome group of people. Thank you to everyone... you contributed to one of the most amazing weeks of my life.

I have put out the word that I\'m hoping that we can meet again in 6 years when most of us will be turning 65 (did I just say that out loud!). Who better to share that moment in my life.

... and thank you to the Reunion Committee and all of the volunteers for all of the hard work that you put into this event.

PS - to the Class of 69 - as I was drivng on my way home to Victoria it suddenly dawned on me that I had forgotten the lettuce, tomatoes, and pickels for the hamburgers at the class party... hmmmmm...

A week has gone by and I’m still laughing at (I mean with) Dally and Bennett. McIntyre haven’t seen you in 40 years and you’re still smiling. Great to see so many show up, but never enough time to catch up.  1968 Grads should be thinking of 2018 (or sooner).  Wow What a Weekend. Our ‘Reunion Team’ really knows how to throw a party.

What a great job the reunion team has done, it sounds like everyone had a ball.  Thank you so much to Don Dickinson for enabling the rest of us to reconnect and enjoy the event vicariously.  I\'m afraid I don\'t recognize anyone in the photos so far but I don\'t know that lady in the mirror either.

THANK YOU!  We totally enjoyed the entire event and are so grateful to our classmate, Debbie (Phillips) Cowan, and to the Web Guy  and to all those who worked so hard to give so many another great memory to add to our high school \'daze\'!  I have to say I was very proud of our Class of 71 who took over the dance floor and proved we can still \'get down\' (kudos to Jim - our token \'spring chicken\' from 73) It was so very cool to have the opportunity to play together again and to just be able to pick up where we\'d left off! So glad we made the trip from Atlanta and we would be willing to do it again next year -  for our 40th Year Reunion! ... will you have recovered enough by then Debbie?!  :-)  CHEERS TO ALL!

Hit all:
What a week end!!!! I am just now getting my voice back. For those of you who didn\'t attend, you missed a once in a lifetime moment. So sad for you!
Thank you to all the attendees who have taken time out of their day to thank the committee members; it truly makes it all worth it!
Thank you Debbie, for the years you have put in, to make this huge event a lifetime memory. (p.s. not more, 3am mornings, returning e-mails.)

Well I just got home (Comox, BC) late last night, and, like Robbyn, I can finally speak!  What an excellent time was had by all!  Those who didn\'t show, will be very jealous when they hear all the stories!
I feel sooo lucky to have run into so many good friends from Alex, CCI, Lion\'s Band and my RGH nursing days.  It was a very busy week for me.
Thanks to Deb & her committee, and "the web guy" for all their hard work pulling this together.  Jack Ireland (from my Alex days)........the food was awesome!  I had no idea you were such a good cook!!!
I\'m sure that after this reintroduction to our childhood days, many of us will continue to stay in contact.........at least, I hope so!
Thanks again for the great party!!!

A special THANKS to Deb and all of her committee for a wonderful weekend. I had a blast catching up with all of the folks from the mid-70\'s classes.

Thanks to everyone who came out for a run with Bill, Loni and myself on Saturday morning before pancakes. We earned our breakfast.

I hope that everyone can somehow keep in touch with all of the old friends that they got re-acquainted with.

Further to my 11 July message below, I\'ve scanned class photos for Grade 9 class 1A 1948/1949 and Grade 10 class 2A 1949/50, which the editor has now posted as part of the CCI Alumni section.
Have a look, before this website disappears into cyberspace.
I\'d be delighted to hear from anyone about those (oh so young) people in the photos. :)

It was great to see all i saw and for you i didn\'t get a chance to talk to we will.

I told my class "I\'m coming out, so you better get the party started". The 1973 grads partied "like it was 1999". We got down tonight, we did a lot of dance, we were moven and grooven and that\'s when it hit me and somone said "play that funky music white boy". We were so "funky" and a "hot child in the city" that most of the other classes couldn\'t keep up. As a result, our class has claimed the "best grad dancers" of the past 100 years.
Look for us on the upcoming 2011 season of the hit TV show "So you think you can dance".

Greetings from Pointe-Claire, QC to the 1948 - 1952 cohort. I\'ve always regretted missing out on finishing my last year (51/52) at CCI, due to a move to Winnipeg. I still have fond memories of fellow students - Anna Green, Arliss Busch, Leon Matwe, Jim York, Ian Moore, Allan Wong and others, and of our memorable teachers, of course. Whatever became of Danny Tait, who I last saw in London, England in 1957?
Cheers

Hi Everyone

I am sitting at home in Christchurch New Zealand kicking myself for not getting organised to get on the plane and (much later....) attending the reunion.

I have many fond memories of an idyllic childhood and high school years in The Jaw.  Didn\'t we have fun - those school election parties, lits, school dances, football games, the circus coming to town and the parade up Main Street, band festivals, swimming at the river, summers at the Lake, graduation and breakfast at The Fryers?  The list goes on.

Life in NZ is great, but I\'ll always be a prairie girl ( or crocus as my father used to remind when I went to the big smoke in Ontario).
it is always good to tell people here where I\'m from, and then to convince them it is true.

i would love to hear from you all.

Have a great time, and I\'ll be thinking of you all while I am compensating in a very small way by having a small reunion potluck dinner with my former neighbours.  Not quite the same thing.

I\'m going to put on my mother\'s muskrat coat and go to the market now - winter here.

Cheers
Sheila

Do you remember taking Industrial Arts with Mr. Cave and Mr. Flack?? I can proudly say I haven\'t caused any serious electrocution burns to myself but hey, I haven\'t built any living room tables either.
Since I have doubled in girth since graduation perhaps a better choice would have been Home Ec -- I love to eat. Plus I would have known what I just bought. It is 100% polyester blocked garment with ottoman body and sleeves with pique raglan panel inserts. It is 160gsm so if I multiply by gravity 9.81m/s² and substitute C=2 Π R and order an XL -- it may just work.
I think it should fit.
Did that "pique" your interest??

Hello everyone!!

Well it is realy down to crunch time now

All of your committees are working hard and your main committee is meeting every week or more to make sure you all have a great time at CCI 100.

Thank you to all of the CCi alumni that have all ready purchased tickets.

The committee wants evryone to know that you have to have purchased a ticket before the event to get in. The security at the grounds is not being handled by your committee so there will be no sweet talking your way in or purchasing a ticket July 8th or later.

Please get your tickets soon .

It is going to be a great time seeing all your classmates and catching up and besides how many times in our lives do we get to celebrate a 100th of anything .

Hope to see you July 8th!!!

My yearbook team and I (Lisa Veer - Central teacher) are publishing a special Centennial History Book that will be on sale at the reunion in July. We have all the yearbooks dating back to 1914, but I am told there were books going back to the school\'s inception in 1910. If anyone has copies of the missing yearbooks, we\'d love to see them. We\'re also interested in hearing about any special events that you feel should be included. We noticed that the queen visited in 1939, but are unclear as to whether she visited Central or other locations Moose Jaw. We welcome comments.

Buster always knew where to get a good meal. I\'m sure that everyone on the block gave him something at one time or another. He used to wander down to Hub Meat Market every morning after he escorted my Sister to school. He\'d have Xmas, Valentine\'s, and Easter cards tied to his collar by local merchants throughout the year.

As we move into the new year, the year of the Reunion, I, as the CCI 100 web guy, reflect on all of the great people with whom I've conversed over the course of the last 26 months. I also reflect on all of the "lasts" I've been experiencing lately. In October it was the last time that I would be putting up the Thanksgiving and Halloween graphics, in November it was the last time I would put up the Remembrance Day graphic and now in December, approaching 2010, it is the last time I will have put up the Christmas and New Year's graphics. I now count down the days until the last Valentine graphic and the last Easter graphic are placed on the website… always moving us closer and closer to the Big Day. I can only hope that this won't be the "last" great reunion for CCI. Maybe the Class of 2010 will want to start planning the 125th this coming year!

Happy New Year Everyone and thank you for the wonderful opportunity to take care of the CCI 100 website! Get ready to party!

Hello to everyone..

It's time to get your classmates busy this week and buy tickets .It's the last week of the $500.00 contest for the class that has the most tickets purchased by Nov 30th.

PHONE THEM,EMAIL THEM ,ANYTHING THAT WORKS

The committee can hardly wait to give away the money!!!

We also have posters made so if anyone has a highly visible location where they think it will do us some good getting the word out  let us know.

Lots going on at meetings and even more in between.Getting down to some of the finer details now..

I think maybe I could be a good wedding co-ordinator when this is all done .Of coarse I'd have to have the outstanding committee around me like I have now...

Cheers,

Hello Don Knutson...no relation I am sure.  But, I thought that my 2 sisters and I were the only Knutsons to have graduated from CC1...I was in the class of '48 probably long before your time.

Hello to all up there in Canada.  I am looking forward to come over for the reunion in 2010.  I hope some of my classmates read this.  I was in the graduating class of 1959.  My form room was 4-C.  Are there any others out there?
