Election Time
During school elections in the late 60s bands would set up in the main hall and play during lunch. One band was Dave Garner, Bob Cranch and others. (Name please Don D?) One day they were playing Louis Louis and at the end of the last line....We gotta go... The school bell rang, to signal back to class.

The band? That would be "The Boston Tea Party" with Bob on drums, Dave on rhythm, and a couple of Tech boys - Doug Gould on lead and Dave Ansell on bass (I think that is how it went). Found Bob but now I'm looking for Dave Garner.

In the 1959-60 elections, we loaded our band, complete with upright piano into the back of a farm truck, and drove it around town.

We borrowed the truck from Wenda Berglind's folks. I was the driver.

See the photo of the "Flappers" truck in the photo section of this site.

I remember wheeling into the A & W Drive-in out on Caribou St. W. one evening and ordering 15 Mama Burgers - to stay. It took the carhop (remember them?) several trips to deliver the burgers and condiments.

Don't remember who the members of the band were, but perhaps some of the other participants might be able to help. Seems to me Ted Seaborn was the piano player.

This was in an era before there were seat belts in autos. Imagine trying that stunt today!

Had lunch with Bob Baylis today. He says he was the trumpeter in the band, and thinks the pianist was Bob Harrison. He also mentioned Pete Bradley (Sax).
On close examination of the photo, I think I recognize Margie-Ann Stewardson and Eileen Delong in the back of the truck. Also think Terry Hammond may be one of the fellows in the buffalo robes.
Anybody else remember who else was in the band?
The girl standing to my left beside the truck cab is Betty-Anne Lewis, but can't remember who the gal in the truck doorway is.
